On the Road to Being: My Personal Journey into Existential Theory and Practice

	Abstract

This article reflects my introspective journey as a student into the world of existential theory and my struggle to find an identity in the profession. The purpose of the excursion was to clarify my conceptualization of clients, understand my goal as a practitioner, and determine practical ways of implementing existential ideas. First, this article provides a conceptualization about how I view clients as an existential psychotherapist. Second, I elaborate on my goal of providing clients with existential clarity. Third, I address the integration of acceptance and commitment therapy and existential theory to apply theory to practice. The final section describes some of my own existential exploration and the evolving clarity of my beliefs.
