Behaviorism and Existentialism RevisitedFurther ReflectionsIllinois School of Professional Psychology, One Quincy Court, 220 South State St., Chicago, IL 60604. In the article "Behaviorism and Existentialism Revisited," Woolfolk and Sass (1988) seek to draw certain parallels and affinities between these two schools of thought. However, in carefully analyzing some of these affinities from a theory-construction approach (Rychlak, 1981), it is discovered that these similarities are more superficial than substantive. Particular attention is given to differences between these two schools regarding the nature of subjectivity and free will.
