The Social Evolution of ConsciousnessSan Francisco This article describes a new model for understanding the social evolution of consciousness and its relationship to the contemporary world situation. It begins with an overview of the model, followed by an account of how consciousness has evolved over five eras of human history. It then uses the model to explain the current crisis we are facing during the transition from the modern era to the next historical era. It discusses solutions to this crisis, which involve changes in consciousness as part of our continuing evolution.
